geocaching update: 30 June 2008

At this point, I've been hovering just over 1400 finds. I've recently completed two quest caches: New York DeLorme Challenge and I Love NY Counties Challenge (which I have since adopted). I am leaning towards some other quest caches: see quests below.

Granted, this will not be a one-day trip. In fact, these are long-term goals. If I complete the standard DeLorme challenges for all of NY, VT, NH, MA, CT, and RI, I might just have to work next on NJ, PA, DE, and MD. (Hmm.. that'd make 10 of them... yeah...) </pipedream>.

Other mid-to-long-term goals include: (1) constructing a replacement for the Shadow Marathon cache; (2) Finding caches in my 19th and 20th states this summer (likely to be Rhode Island and Maine); (3) actually going to Canada for my first international cache finds (this should happen the first weekend in August); (4) complete a 9x9 difficulty-by-terrain grid.

I've also experimented with Wherigo caches (2 found, 2 hidden). I have yet to completely fix my Wherigo cache in Knox, NY - there are a few bugs left. (Progress, though!) Grr... However, I think I'd also like to go around collecting Wherigo finds as well (current nearest circa 100mi!). I mean, I am going to be doing all of that driving for the DeLormes, right?
